Legal Information

This page is the legal notice and statutory information page for buzzvique. It explains who operates this website, how the operator is registered in the United Kingdom, the rules that apply when you use the site, and the formalities that govern any business you place with us. It is written for the professional live television production community — producers, studio engineers, camera operators, sound and lighting technicians, facilities managers and the production teams who rely on the practical guidance published here about studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting setups and dependable production processes for news programmes, interviews and live shows.

Last updated: 6 November 2026. This version replaces every earlier version of this Legal Notice. How we announce changes is described in the final section.

1. Operator Identity and Legal Form

1.1 Who operates this website

buzzvique is a commercial website operated from the United Kingdom. The operator is a private company limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales, whose business activity is the rental and supply of camera and lighting equipment, studio integration services and related production support for film, television, broadcast and media production. The operator is the publisher of all editorial content on this website and is the entity with which you enter into any contract if you hire equipment, book technical support or purchase a service through the site.

Where this notice uses "we", "us" or "our", it means the operator of buzzvique. Where it uses "you", it means the person visiting the website, whether as a prospective customer, an existing customer, a professional adviser, a student or an interested member of the public.

1.2 Legal form, registration details and tax identifiers

The following identifiers are published in accordance with the Companies Act 2006 and the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, together with the information duties that apply to commercial websites under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the Provision of Services Regulations 2009. They are also the identifiers required to be transparent to business partners for invoicing and tax purposes.

  • Registered company name: buzzvique
  • Legal form: private company limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales
  • Company Registration Number: 13033970
  • Place of registration: England and Wales
  • Registered office address: Room 6.47, New Adelphi Building, University of Salford, Salford, United Kingdom, M5 4BR
  • VAT Number: 494089156
  • Principal business activity: rental of camera and lighting equipment for film, television and media production, with associated studio, integration and production support services
  • Registrar: the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales maintains the public register containing our filings and accounts

The company number is the most reliable way to identify us in any correspondence, purchase order, credit application or legal document. Please quote it whenever you write to us about contractual, invoicing or compliance matters. If you are a business customer placing a purchase order, your own finance team may require the registered name, company number and VAT number exactly as listed above so that invoices can be matched and tax recovered correctly.

1.3 Responsible representatives and decision-making

The company is directed by its board of directors, who are responsible for the management of the business, for the accuracy of the information published on this website, and for the contractual positions taken in our Terms and Conditions. Directors' names appear on the public register maintained by the Registrar of Companies and are available to anyone who wishes to verify our identity, ownership and filing history. Day-to-day responsibility for this website, for its editorial content and for data protection compliance sits with the management team, which can be reached using the contact route set out in section 2. We have not appointed a statutory Data Protection Officer, because our processing activities do not require one; data protection questions are handled by the management team.

1.4 Regulated activity, licences and professional status

Supplying camera and lighting equipment and advising on studio integration are not reserved or licensed professions in the United Kingdom, and we do not hold ourselves out as members of a regulated profession. We are therefore not registered with a professional body in the sense contemplated by the Provision of Services Regulations 2009, and no professional title or regulatory authorisation number applies to us. What does apply is ordinary product and workplace regulation: electrical equipment supplied to customers must be safe and, where applicable, appropriately marked and tested; batteries and lamps are subject to separate producer responsibility obligations; and where we work on a customer's premises we follow the duties in the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 as they apply to production environments. We hold employer's liability insurance and public liability insurance and can provide certificates to customers who need them for their own risk assessments and location agreements.

Broadcasting itself is regulated by the broadcasting regulator in the country where a service is transmitted, and programme standards obligations rest with the broadcaster rather than with an equipment or facilities supplier. Nothing on this website should be read as a claim to hold a broadcasting licence, and the references to news programmes, interviews and live shows are made for the purpose of explaining production practice, not to suggest that we are a broadcaster.

2. Registered Office and Contact Details

Our registered office is the official address at which documents may be served on the company and at which our statutory registers are kept. It is also the address we publish for formal, contractual and legal correspondence. The registered office is: Room 6.47, New Adelphi Building, University of Salford, Salford, United Kingdom, M5 4BR. Please note that the registered office is not necessarily a location at which equipment can be collected or returned, and visitors should not attend without an appointment made in advance.

You can reach us in the following ways. By email at [email protected], which is monitored during normal United Kingdom business hours and is the preferred route for written communications, quotations, technical enquiries and complaints. By telephone at +44 (0)161 295 4545. By post at Room 6.47, New Adelphi Building, University of Salford, Salford, United Kingdom, M5 4BR. You may also use the contact form on our Contacts page, which routes your message to the same team and creates a record that helps us to respond consistently; messages sent through the form are treated as having been received when they enter our systems during business hours.

When you contact us, please include your name, your organisation, a reply address and, where relevant, a booking or invoice reference. For legal notices — for example, a notice about alleged infringement of intellectual property rights, a data protection request or a formal complaint — the subject line should identify the notice clearly so that it is not delayed in general enquiries. We aim to acknowledge written communications within five working days and to provide a substantive response within twenty working days, although technical enquiries that require checking equipment availability or manufacturer documentation may take longer. If you need an answer urgently, telephone us rather than relying on email.

3. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of the Website

buzzvique exists to be a professional resource for live television production. Its purpose is to help production teams plan and run studio and outside-broadcast environments competently: how studio equipment is specified, integrated and cabled so that systems work together on the day; how cameras are moved, framed and matched so that dynamic shots remain stable and consistent; how a room is treated and monitored so that acoustic performance supports clean dialogue in noisy production centres; how lighting is designed and rigged so that news desks, interview sets and live performance areas are correctly exposed and flattering on camera; and how production processes, checklists and redundancy planning make live output reliable when there is only one chance to get it right.

The intended audience is professional and semi-professional: producers, directors, technical managers, engineers, operators, production coordinators and students preparing for work in the industry. The website is published in English, operates under the law of England and Wales, and is aimed primarily at users in the United Kingdom, although we welcome international visitors and understand that some readers work under different technical standards and regulatory frameworks. If you are based outside the United Kingdom, you are responsible for checking that any technique, product or practice described here is lawful and appropriate where you work.

The site is a commercial publication, not a consumer magazine, a news service or a broadcasting service in its own right. It does not provide real-time transmission of any programme, and it does not moderate or host user-generated articles, discussion boards or reviews. Content is published to support our commercial activities and to inform readers, and it may be updated, reorganised or withdrawn at any time as equipment ranges, standards and best practice change.

4. Access to the Website and Acceptable Use

You may access and browse the public areas of this website free of charge. You are responsible for the equipment, software, network connection and data costs needed to reach the site, and for ensuring that your browser is reasonably current and secure. We do not guarantee compatibility with every device or assistive technology, but we work to keep the site usable, legible and navigable with keyboard and screen reader tools, and we welcome reports of accessibility problems so that they can be corrected.

The website is intended for users aged sixteen and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Visitors should not attempt to create accounts, place orders or submit forms on behalf of someone else unless they are authorised to do so.

4.1 Permitted use

  • Reading, viewing and printing pages for your own professional or personal reference, including using them as briefing material for a production.
  • Sharing individual pages with colleagues or clients by sending them the address, providing that you do not present the content as your own work or remove any attribution.
  • Quoting short extracts in internal training materials, technical documents or teaching material, with a clear acknowledgement of this website as the source.
  • Contacting us through the published routes to request quotations, technical support, licences for commercial reuse or further information.

4.2 Prohibited conduct

You must not use this website in a way that damages it, interferes with other users, or breaches the law. In particular you must not: copy, mirror, frame or systematically download substantial parts of the site, or use automated tools to harvest content, product data or contact information; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers, its hosting environment or any connected system; introduce viruses, ransomware, spyware or any other harmful code; submit false, misleading or defamatory material through forms; impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent an association with us; use the site to send unsolicited marketing; or use content from this site to build, train or fine-tune a commercial machine-learning model without our prior written permission.

Where a breach of this section causes loss or damage, we reserve the right to recover the reasonable costs of investigation and remediation, to block access, and to refer the matter to law enforcement, including action under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and the Fraud Act 2006 where those apply. We may suspend or withdraw access to the website, in whole or in part, for maintenance, security or legal reasons, and we are not liable for any interruption that results, except where the law requires otherwise.

5. Intellectual Property, Trade Marks and Content Licensing

All content on this website — including text, technical notes, diagrams, photographs, video, audio, layout, design, source code and the selection and arrangement of material — is owned by us or used with the permission of the rights holder, and is protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and by equivalent laws in other countries. Nothing in this notice transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

Our company name, trading style, logo and any product or service names we use are trade marks or protected business identifiers. Third-party brands, equipment model names and manufacturer designations that appear on the site remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify products, standards or compatibility accurately. Their appearance is not an endorsement of us by the brand owner, nor an endorsement by us of any particular product for your production.

You may print or download extracts for your own personal or internal non-commercial use, and you may copy material to individual third parties for their own personal use, provided that you acknowledge this website as the source. You may not, without our express written permission, distribute, republish, sell, rent, sublicense or commercially exploit any part of the content, store it in any other website or retrieval system, or use it as part of a competing information service. Requests for commercial reuse, image licensing, training use or translation should be sent to [email protected] with a description of the intended use, the audience and the duration of the licence you need.

If you believe that material published on this website infringes your rights, please notify us in writing at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the work, the page concerned, the basis of your claim and your contact details. We review properly substantiated notifications promptly and will remove or amend content where that is appropriate, without admitting any liability. Deliberately false claims may themselves give rise to a claim for damages.

6. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitation of Liability

We prepare our content with care and keep it under review, but we cannot promise that it is complete, current or suitable for your particular production. Equipment ranges change, firmware and standards are revised, and a technique that works in one studio may be unsuitable in another because of ceiling height, power supply, acoustic behaviour, rigging restrictions or the format of the programme. Always verify specifications against the manufacturer's current documentation, carry out your own site survey and risk assessment, and involve a competent person for anything with a safety dimension, including rigging, electrical distribution, battery charging and working at height.

Content on this website is provided for information and professional guidance. It is not engineering, structural, electrical, insurance, tax or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional's judgement on a specific project. Where we describe equipment or practices, we do so as an equipment supplier and production supporter, not as a certifying authority.

The website is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, that defects will be corrected immediately, or that the site or the servers that host it are free of harmful components. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the site, but no internet transmission is entirely secure and you should not send confidential material to us through unencrypted channels.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings, and for loss of or damage to data, however arising and whether in contract, tort, misrepresentation or otherwise. Where we are liable to a business customer, our total liability in connection with the website and any related supply is limited to the greater of the fees paid by that customer to us in the twelve months before the claim arose or one thousand pounds. This does not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

If you are a consumer, nothing in this notice affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other consumer legislation, and the limits above apply to you only so far as the law allows. Where our equipment or services are supplied to you as a consumer and do not meet the required standard, you are entitled to the remedies the law provides, and we will not rely on a contractual term to reduce those remedies.

7. External Links and Third-Party Content

This website may refer to external websites, manufacturer documentation, standards bodies, trade associations, software tools or embedded media supplied by third parties. Those references are provided for convenience and context only. We do not control third-party sites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices, and a reference to them does not mean that we endorse them or that they endorse us.

When you follow an external reference you leave our site and become subject to the other provider's terms and privacy notice, which you should read before relying on anything you find there. Embedded third-party media may set cookies or collect usage data directly; where we use such features, the Cookie Policy explains how consent is obtained and how it can be withdrawn. If you believe that a link from our site to another site is unlawful, misleading or inappropriate, please tell us at [email protected] so that we can review it and remove it where necessary.

8. Data Protection, Privacy and Cookies

We are the data controller for the personal information processed through this website, for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We collect only what we need to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, provide equipment and services, keep accounting and tax records and secure the website. Depending on the context, we rely on your consent, on the performance of a contract with you, on our compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting rules, and on our legitimate interests in running a commercial business and protecting it against misuse.

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, plus any period required by law — for example, financial records are retained for the statutory accounting period — and then delete or anonymise it. We share information with service providers such as hosting, email, payment and accounting suppliers, and with professional advisers, insurers or authorities where that is necessary or legally required. We do not sell personal information. Where information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we put appropriate safeguards in place.

You have the right to be informed, to access your information, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability where it applies, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. You can also object to direct marketing at any time, and we will stop. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month, and we may need to verify your identity before acting. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom supervisory authority for data protection.

In line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, we use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work and to remember your cookie choices. Analytics and similar non-essential cookies are set only with your consent, which you give through the cookie banner and can change at any time through the banner or your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from functioning. Further detail is set out in our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy, which form part of the way this website is operated.

9. Orders, Hire Terms, Payment and Refunds

Any hire, purchase or service booking is governed by our Terms and Conditions of Business and, where applicable, by our Payment and Refund Policy. Those documents set out how bookings are confirmed, how equipment is delivered, collected and returned, who bears risk of loss or damage, how cancellation and postponement are handled, what happens if equipment fails during a shoot, and the charges that apply for late return, missing accessories or damage beyond fair wear and tear.

Prices displayed on this website are quoted in pounds sterling and, unless clearly stated otherwise, exclude VAT, delivery, insurance and any consumables. VAT is charged at the applicable United Kingdom rate and is shown separately on invoices, which also display our VAT Number, 494089156, so that business customers can recover input tax where they are entitled to do so.

Consumers in the United Kingdom have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 for most contracts concluded at a distance, subject to the statutory exceptions — for example, where goods are made to the consumer's specification, where sealed audio or video recordings have been unsealed, or where a service has been fully performed with the consumer's agreement before the cancellation period ends. Because hire periods are short and dates are often reserved in advance, cancellation terms are explained clearly before you confirm a booking. Business-to-business transactions are governed by our Terms and Conditions rather than by consumer cancellation rights.

10. Complaints and Consumer Dispute Resolution

We would much rather resolve a problem directly than see it escalate. If something has gone wrong, please write to [email protected] with your booking reference, a description of what happened and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days, investigate it fairly, keep you informed of progress, and give you a substantive response within twenty working days. If we cannot resolve the matter within eight weeks, we will tell you so and explain your remaining options.

In accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015, we confirm that we are not obliged to use, and do not currently participate in, an alternative dispute resolution procedure for consumer complaints. If you are a consumer and you remain dissatisfied, you may approach a certified alternative dispute resolution provider, although its decision or recommendation would not be binding on you or on us unless both parties agreed. Nothing in this section prevents you from taking court action at any time.

11. Applicable Law, Jurisdiction and Consumer Rights

This Legal Notice and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the use of this website are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own part of the United Kingdom, and you benefit from any mandatory rules of consumer protection in the country where you live. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, nothing in this notice deprives you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Contracts, quotations, invoices, technical documentation and this notice are provided in English.

12. Other Legal and Regulatory Formalities

12.1 Health, safety and welfare

We treat health and safety as part of the service, not an administrative afterthought. Equipment is inspected and maintained on a schedule, and electrical items supplied to customers are tested and recorded in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. Customers receive guidance on dynamic loading, rigging points, battery charging, heat management and cable protection so that they can integrate our equipment safely into their own set. Responsibility for the workplace is shared: we advise and supply, while the production is responsible for the site, its structure, access and supervision. Safety documentation, including insurance certificates and test records, is available on request.

12.2 Anti-bribery, sanctions and ethical trading

We operate an anti-bribery position consistent with the Bribery Act 2010. Employees and representatives may not offer, promise, give, request or accept anything of value in order to obtain a business advantage, and we expect suppliers and customers to share that standard. We also comply with applicable United Kingdom sanctions and export control rules; some equipment and technology cannot lawfully be exported or rented into certain destinations, and we may ask for end-use information before confirming a booking.

12.3 Modern slavery and human rights

We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, child labour or human trafficking in our business or in our supply chains, and we expect our suppliers to uphold the same standards. Although we may not be required to publish an annual statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we maintain a policy that applies comparable principles and we will provide information about it on written request.

12.4 Environment, waste and product responsibility

We work to reduce the environmental impact of the equipment we supply and of our own operations, including energy use in studios, packaging and freight, and the responsible disposal of lamps, batteries and electronic items. Where our obligations under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 and the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 apply, we meet them and will explain what a customer should do with a product at the end of its life. Consumable items supplied on a production should be disposed of in accordance with local waste rules at the venue.

12.5 Records, accessibility and digital formality

We keep records of quotations, contracts, test certificates and correspondence so that we can answer questions long after a shoot has wrapped, and we retain records for the periods required by tax, insurance and limitation rules. We aim to meet the expectations of the Equality Act 2010 in the way we serve customers and publish information, and we will provide documents in an alternative format where that is reasonably practicable. These commitments do not create contractual obligations beyond those already owed at law or under our Terms and Conditions, but they describe how we in fact work.

13. Changes, Contact Route and Version Control

We may update this Legal Notice to reflect changes in the law, in our registration details, in the services we offer or in the way the website works. The revised version takes effect when it is published on this page with a new update date. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give reasonable notice — for example, by placing a prominent notice on the website before the change takes effect — and continued use of the site after that point means you accept the updated notice. Previous versions are available on written request.

If you have questions about this notice, need it in another format, or wish to raise a legal, contractual or data protection matter, contact us at [email protected], by telephone on +44 (0)161 295 4545, or in writing at Room 6.47, New Adelphi Building, University of Salford, Salford, United Kingdom, M5 4BR. Formal notices should be marked clearly and sent to the registered office so that they reach the right person without delay. The contact form on our Contacts page can be used for general enquiries and is not intended for the service of legal proceedings.

Please read this notice alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions of Business and Payment and Refund Policy, which together describe how we operate commercially and how we handle information. Where a topic is dealt with in more detail in one of those documents, that document takes precedence on that topic, and this notice applies to everything else.
